Delta noiseLab Pro Measurement and Analysis Software
noiseLAB Pro software uses a National Instruments 4-Channel USB Digitizers or .wav files from Sound Level Meters or Hard Disk Recorders for multi-channel recording, editing, and analysis of noise and vibration signals, including sound quality, tone and impulse metrics.
- Precision Recorder: noiseLab makes high quality recordings of up to 8 channels of sound
- Import externally produced .wav files from Hard Disk Recorders or Sound Lelvel Meters for analysis in InoiseLab
- Time Integrating (Fast, Slow, Impulse, Taktmak., Custom Time Constant)
- Sound Level and Statistical Data: Sound Levels, Leq, SEL, and Ln values of each clip and all clips combined
- Octave Bands (1/1, 1/3, 1/6, 1/12, and 1/24th octave)
- Low Frequency A and G filtered values
- FFT analysis (1 Hz to 100 Hz resolution)
- Tone Analysis (Automatic Detection of all tone parameters to ISO-1996-2)
- Automatic Batch Processing: Compute one or more of analysis parameters in parallel or multiple sound clips
- “Train” analysis: Breaks the signal into segments of equal lengths and analyzes these independently. Especially suited for non-stationary signal analysis
- Export any or all results to MS Excel with one click
- Export one or hundreds of graphs to file (jpg format) with one click
- Input format: 16 or 24 bit uncompressed .wav, single channel
- Maximum Recording Duration: 10 minutes
- FFT Analysis: Down to 10 Hz resolution, Hanning weighting
- Octave Analysis: 1/1 or 1/3 octave analysis. Linear RMS weighting
- Sound Level: Fast, Slow or Leq. Z, A, B, or C weighted. Leq in 1 s intervals
- All Analysis types to Type 1 sound level meter standards
- Calibration: Automatic transfer of calibration from an imported 1 kHz calibration tone of Scaling information for a range of Svantek .wav files
- Editor: Create Multiple Clips as short as 1 second
- Scrubbing: Permits interactive viewing of Spectra or Sound Level as you move the cursor through the preview waveform
- Sound Playback: Includes extra gain to permit sound playback of wide dynamic range signals without the need for an external amplifier
- Graph Display: Quarter, half or full screen
- Data Export: Result export to Excel
Noise Analysis
For classical noise analysis, 1/1 to 1/24 octave analysis is provided along with FFT spectrum analysis with resolution from 1 Hz to 100 Hz. Also included is Sound Level (Z, A, B, C weighting) with choice of integration time constant, Impulse, Peak, and statistical analysis, Leq and LE. In addition, noiseLAB also provides low frequency A weighting and Infrasound G weighting.
Vibration Analysis
Vibration analysis is based on accelerometer signals, which with integration provides velocity and displacement in a variety of units, displayed with linear or logarithmic X and Y scales. Both Peak, Peak to Peak, and RMS (with selectable time constant) is available for vibration analysis.
Human Impact
The human impact of noise and vibration is a major new addition to noiseLAB. In addition to the ISO 1996 Tone Analysis, the classic sound quality metrics of harshness, roughness, loudness (stationary and time-varying), sharpness and fluctuation strength are also provided. As a leader in psychoacoustic research, the tone analysis method (ISO 1996 Annex 3) was developed by DELTA, and is now supplemented by two new experimental metrics for wind turbines: the Pedersen method for low frequencies and the LeGarth method for swish analysis By making these widely available the noise industry can contribute to test and evaluation of these techniques, and help drive suggestions for possible improvements more rapid implementation. noiseLAB provides powerful, Type 1 Recording and Analysis of noise and vibration signals and their human impact. The same analysis can also be made on imported .wav files.
