Rion Introduces VX-14D Fault Diagnosis Program for their Popular VA-14 Vibration Meter

VX-14D VA14 Vibration Meter

The global predictive maintenance market is growing explosively. Companies are moving from reactive to predictive strategies, and the Rion VA-14 Vibration Meter with VX-14D Program is the perfect solution.

The Rion VA-14 is a vibration analyzer with FFT capabilities, enabling both simple diagnosis and precision diagnosis. It can be used for maintenance and inspection of industrial machinery, research and development, and on-site vibration analysis.

The new VX-14D Program allows for predictive maintenance and automated fault diagnosis. This optional program transforms the Rion VA-14 from a measurement instrument into an intelligent diagnostic system that:

  • Replicates expert skills – Staff vibration specialists  no longer needed
  • Automates condition monitoring – Set it and forget it; the VA-14 evaluates and alerts
  • Diagnoses specific faults – Identifies unbalance, misalignment, looseness, bearing and gear issues
  • Provides 4-level severity ratings – Based on ISO 10816-1 standards with color-coded results
  • Stores abnormal data – Engineers can review later without being on-site
  • Reference Values Based on ISO 10816-1

Typical users:

  • Facility maintenance managers who need automated monitoring solutions
  • Reliability engineers implementing predictive maintenance programs
  • Manufacturing plants looking to reduce unplanned downtime
  • Service companies offering machinery health monitoring contracts
  • Users who previously couldn’t justify hiring vibration specialists

Applications:
Structural Fault Diagnosis:

  • Diagnoses structural abnormalities such as imbalance, misalignment, and looseness.
  • When an abnormality is present, the vibration velocity at rotational frequency increases. VA-14 determines abnormalities based on the magnitude of FFT spectrum results.
  • It also identifies rotational frequencies for a comprehensive diagnosis.

Wear Fault Diagnosis:

  • Diagnose abnormalities in bearings and gears. In normal machines, the vibration acceleration envelope follows a nearly normal amplitude distribution.
  • When abnormalities occur, there is significant deviation from this distribution.
  • VA-14 determines wear-related abnormalities based on these differences in the distribution.

Perform detailed diagnosis of problem spots in a plant:

Use the vibration analyzer VA-14. To diagnose an unbalanced or misaligned condition, perform FFT analysis of velocity. To diagnose bearing conditions, perform FFT analysis of acceleration with envelope processing.

Perform simultaneous diagnosis and waveform recording:

With the vibration analyzer VA-14, on-site simple diagnosis or detailed diagnosis can be performed, and the vibration waveform can be recorded at the same time. The recorded waveform data can then be processed with The waveform analysis software AS-70.

Low-frequency and low-amplitude vibration measurement
This system measures low-frequency micro-vibrations. “Servo Accelerometer LS-10C” is connected to the “General-purpose Vibration Meter VM-83”, and AC output of the VM-83 is input to the “Vibration Analyzer VA-14”. The frequency range is 1 Hz to 100 Hz, and the vibration quantities that can be measured are acceleration, velocity, and displacement. The “Vibration Analyzer VA-14” can turn off CCLD (constant current drive) by installing the “Superior Function Program VX-14S.”

What makes the VX-14D a must buy:
1. Easy Installation – Supplied on an SD card, making it easy to install
2. Proven Technology – Built on years of VA-12 field experience
3. Complete Solution – Works with the superior VX-14S program for sound measurement and long-term recording
4. State-of-the art technology  – Combining FFT analysis with automated diagnosis in a handheld package is rare in this price segment
