A microphone can alter the sound field in which it is placed. Norsonic’s and Rion’s range of free-field microphones are engineered to compensate for this effect so they can measure the sound pressure as it existed before the microphone was introduced. Because of this compensation, they provide accurate measurements in environments such as outdoors, anechoic chambers, and reverberation rooms.
Available range of microphones and preamplifiers includes both pre-polarized models and externally polarized models requiring a 200 V bias voltage. Options are available for low-noise, low-frequency, and ultrasound measurements, allowing users to select the optimal sensor for the specific application.
