The accompanying Nor850 Suite software links multiple measuring units to form a customizable system tailored to any measurement need. It also provides specialized, user-friendly software packages for various applications.
The Nor850 Suite software can be connected to various Norsonic measurement devices, such as the Nor850-MF1 multichannel rack, or the Nor140, Nor145, and Nor150 analyzers.
The Nor850-MF1 rack is designed to accommodate up to 10 measurement channels and can only be controlled remotely through the Nor850 Suite via a LAN interface. For wireless connectivity, a router can be connected to the LAN port. The rack is powered by either 115/230 Vac or 12Vdc.
Delivered with a configurable number of measurement channels, the Nor850-MF1 rack can be upgraded with additional channels as your needs evolve. Multiple racks can be integrated into the same system or mixed with Nor140, Nor145, or Nor150 analyzers as additional front-end units. Users can start with any combination of Nor140, Nor145, or Nor150 analyzers, and gradually expand by adding more sound level meter units, or mix and match with Nor850-MF1 racks that support 1–10 measurement channels. Additionally, selected channels can be equipped with signal generator outputs if required.
At the core of the Nor850 Suite is a comprehensive sensor database that stores detailed information on each user’s complete list of measurement transducers (microphones, preamplifiers, accelerometers, etc.). This includes serial numbers, product names, manufacturers, calibration history, verification labs, upcoming verification dates, correction data, and more. The database can also store similar information for calibrators and reference sound sources.
The system allows for the logging of DC voltage levels alongside acoustic measurements, and can directly read temperature, humidity, and pressure data from external sensors.
The General Analyzer Mode enables the user to perform multispectral measurements across all channels simultaneously, with customizable settings for frequency range and level profiles. These profiles allow for user-defined period lengths, ranging from a few milliseconds to several minutes. Results are displayed in flexible formats, including level vs. frequency and level vs. time views, as well as in tables. Specialized views for 3D and spectrogram presentations are also available.
For quality control, measurements can be easily conducted using two reference spectra options. Each reference spectrum can serve as either a lower or upper threshold, providing a Go/NoGo output to the operator for quick validation.
The Nor850 Suite offers an environmental software extension that enables the user to make audio recordings in selected channels and to insert event markers along the timeline during the measurement sequence.
The basic Building Acoustics application package provides all the essential tools for conducting sound insulation tests in the field. It includes both the traditional ISO 140 standards and the newer ISO 16283 standards, as well as the ASTM Standards E336 and E1007.
The extended Building Acoustics package includes more advanced laboratory tests such as ISO 10140, along with ASTM E90 and E492. It also covers absorption coefficient testing according to ISO 354 and ASTM C423. ASTM ratings are supported by the ASTM Standards E989, E413, E3207, and E3222.
The signal generator can produce white, pink, or bandpass filtered noise, with the option to pre-excite measurement chambers based on user specifications. Additionally, the Nor850 Suite offers features for the automatic control of rotating microphone booms, tapping machines, and moving loudspeaker systems.
Sound insulation indices can be calculated with predefined reports, and parameter input is available in both metric and US formats. The system also includes advanced features for multichannel calibration, with remote displays and acoustic loudspeaker feedback.
Older measurement projects from previous Norsonic analyzers can be imported and compared with new measurements through the multi-project feature. Measurement data can be easily reused in new projects using a simple drag-and-drop function.
The basic Sound Power application package provides all the necessary features for conducting sound power tests in compliance with the ISO 3740 series standards.
The extended Sound Power application package offers additional tools for more specialized tests, such as dual-chamber testing of heat pumps, dynamic testing of earth-moving machinery, and similar applications. The entire testing process can be managed using a user-defined Scheduler, allowing for easy repetition of tests.
The Appliance Noise application package includes the required features to perform a full laboratory test of the ISO 3822 Noise emission from appliances and equipment used in water supply installations.
