One of the most robust
Sound Level Meters available!

The Nor145 is an advanced Class I sound level meter for noise and vibration analysis, featuring remote control, Wi-Fi, GPS, and integration with NorCloud and Norsonic software for advanced data processing.

The Nor145 is a Class I sound level meter designed for a wide range of tasks ranging from basic noise measurements to advanced noise analysis, including room and building acoustics applications. It also supports vibration measurements when paired with an IEPE vibration sensor. Fully networked, the Nor145 allows remote operation and data access from a mobile device or a PC. Featuring a 4.3″ full-color touchscreen, it offers a user-friendly experience similar to that of a smartphone.

The Nor145 can also be managed via NorCloud and the Nor850 software. The included NorConnect software with every unit enables users to download, view, and generate Excel reports of the measurements, or perform further analysis using Norsonic’s software suite of postprocessing and reporting tools for building acoustics, environmental noise, and sound power.

What's Included

The Nor145 includes simultaneous measurements of A, C and Z frequency weightings, 1/1 & 1/3 octave band filters from 6.3 Hz – 20 kHz, measurement of Leq, LeqI (Impulse Leq), LE (sound exposure level), SPL, Lmax, Lmin, all along with parallel detection of Fast, Slow and Impulse time constants, 8 statistical calculation of percentile levels Ln, and TMAX5. The measurement data is analyzed over a defined global measurement duration with up to two parallel time profiles with an adjustable resolution down to 5 ms, and one moving time profile (moving Leq). Frequency analysis in 1/1 or 1/3 octave bands is available for global measurement periods. Noise Criterion (NC), Room Criteria (RC), and Room Criterion Mark II (RC II) can be calculated using 1/1 octave band analysis. The basic unit includes reverberation time calculations in 1/1 octave bands based on impulse excitation, one event trigger, voice annotation, and built-in web server with WI-FI. Audio .WAV recording is possible using manual start or triggered by a level exceedance event. The Nor145 supports 12 or 48 kHz audio recording sampling rate; 8, 16 or 24 bit audio recording resolution; and 0 to 60 dB digital audio recording gain. Included with the Nor145 is also the STI calculation based on the STIPA method option.

Vibration measurements are made easy with the Nor145 using IEPE powered accelerometers. By enabling IEPE power, an accelerometer can be directly connected to the 7-pin preamplifier LEMO socket via a suitable cable, such as the Nor1438. The accelerometer input can be configured to measure acceleration or velocity.

Each Nor145 is delivered with the following:

  • 32 GB Micro SD card (larger cards may be used)
  • Wind screen Nor1451
  • USB cable
  • Mains adapter Nor345B
  • Rechargeable battery
  • Carrying case Nor1346
  • Printed User Manual
  • Reporting software NorConnect
  • Control PC software NorVirtual

The microphone and preamplifier must be ordered separately from a range of available options. The standard choice consists of a removable Nor1209 preamplifier with a LEMO connector, and a Nor1239, ½” free-field microphone.

Options

Additionally, the FFT analysis and 1/3 octave band spectrum can be measured and viewed simultaneously.
Additional Options:

This option enables the use of GPS for position identification and support for GPS time synchronization. GPS time synchronization is especially useful when several Nor145s are used for capturing the same noise event, such as during blast or vibration monitoring. The GPS position is stored as a part of the measurement file. It may also be set to be a part of the file name.

Additionally, this option enables the connection of an external IP camera, supporting storage of event-triggered images. The photos taken during a measurement are marked as events in the Level vs. Time graph and can be viewed on the Nor145, in NorCloud, or in the NorReview software.

This option is not available as retrofit and must be ordered with the base unit.

This option enables the communication of the Nor145 with Norsonic’s NorCloud remote monitoring platform.
NorCloud subscriptions are activated at norcloud.norsonic.com.

This option requires the ENV-Advanced option kit.

This option kit enables FFT analysis with a sampling rate of 48 kHz and more than 16000 lines and a dynamic zoom from 1 – 64. Upper frequency is 22 kHz and may be extended to 40 kHz via the Ultrasonic option (sold separately). Additionally, the FFT analysis and 1/3 octave band spectrum can be measured and viewed simultaneously.

This option may be added to the base unit and is included with the CONS-ADVANCED option kit.

  • Audio recording is extended to a maximum sampling rate of 96 kHz
  • AU (audio) weighting network is enabled, providing a total of 4 simultaneously measured frequency weighting networks in addition to 1/3 or 1/1 octave band filters, allowing simultaneously measurement of A, AU, C and Z weighted parameters, such as LAeq, LAUeq, PeakC and Peak Z.
  • Simultaneously measurement of “Ultrasound noise at work” with “standard noise at work parameters”. This is a unique feature not seen in any handheld instrument.

Due to the limitation in the frequency range of a standard ½” microphone, a ¼” microphone capable of measuring ultrasound is required for best use of this option. Please contact us for further information or recommendations.

This option requires the ENV-Advanced option kit.

Building Acoustics Application Features

Norsonic is known for its long-time tradition of creating state-of-the art building acoustic analyzers. The Nor145 sound level meter is no exception!

The Nor145 can be used as a stand-alone single channel building acoustic analyzer, or as a remotely controlled building acoustic frontend (wireless) for the advanced Nor850 multichannel software through its WLAN hotspot feature.

The Nor145 offers a built-in signal generator for excitation of the source room level measurements or for excitation of the reverberation time measurements. The results are measured in accordance with all types of building acoustics standards, including ASTM E336, ASTM E1007, ASTM E989, ASTM 413 and ISO 16283. With additional background level measurement results, the Nor145 offers an on-board calculation of the final airborne sound insulation ratings such as the ASTC (Apparent Sound Transmission Class), NIC, DnT, Rw and others. A similar possibility is available for impact sound insulation ratings Ln,w or AIIC (Apparent Impact Insulation Clas) using a tapping machine such as the Nor277.

The Nor145 analyzer is seamless integrated with the Nor850 software; either as a remote frontend to the Nor850 Measurement System, or for easy post processing in the Nor850 Reporting System.

Features

  • Complete calculation of airborne, façade and impact sound insulation indices in accordance with international and national standards
  • Wireless single or dual channel measurements using one or two Nor145 controlled from Nor850
  • Reverberation time measurements with parallel calculation of T15, T20, T30, Tmax/EDT
  • Ensemble averaging of reverberation decays

  • Additional features are background noise correction and auditory correction.
  • Background noise correction can be turned on/off.
  • Auditory correction gives a lower score on the STI value if the STIPA noise signal is too loud or too low. It shall normally be turned on, but the latest revision of the standard recommends it to be possible to turn it off in some special circumstances.
  • The built-in signal generator generates the STIPA signal.
  • A complete measurement sequence takes only 21 seconds.
